Founding Principal Tubiolo’s transformational leadership strengths include collaborative teaming, teaching and leadership coaching, and organizational culture and climate-related themes. Within ten years, her school team has consistently gained notoriety and accolades for their citywide presentations in Social Emotional Learning, for their instructional models and design for all learners, bilingual speech and language, IEP-related elements, wellness, the arts - all disciplines, and our phenomenal percentage of students who move into less intensive and less restrictive learning environments annually across all grade bands. With an authentic, one-of-a-kind vibe and as transparent as one can find, Founding Principal Tubiolo has over twenty years of experience in special education and over a decade’s experience in school and educational leadership. As a high school volunteer at The Children’s Village Residential cottages and programs in Dobbs Ferry, NY, her journey as an educator began before she knew it, as her original plan was to go to law school, but something always pulled her back to the field of education. Founding Principal Tubiolo’s highlighted accomplishments include being a New York City Teaching Fellow, a nationally recognized Master Educator cited for model standards-based Literacy instruction in the most difficult behavioral and underperforming learning environments with the most severe learning needs, and most vulnerable (And by far, the most powerful and authentic) young people in middle school and high school in The Bronx. Her experience as a district-level instructional coach for middle schools and high schools citywide provided her with opportunities to guide and motivate as many teaching teams as possible to find their purpose in their classrooms and focus on evidence-based, student-centered teaching and learning outcomes for all levels of learners. Before becoming the Founding School Principal of The B.S.C.L., Ms. Tubiolo was an Assistant Principal in The Bronx.

Additionally, Ms. Tubiolo was selected for participation in the 2012 TARA Research Program as one of 12 cohort members from an annual national search and application process, is a certified trainer with Cornell University’s Therapeutic Crisis Intervention - Schools Edition for New York City Public Schools, and is currently engaging in her doctoral dissertation work focused on educational leadership’s accountability measures for shifting personnel’s perceptions and mindsets of underperforming students A continuous learner and reflective practitioner who still teaches and coaches, Founding Principal Tubiolo’s school community continues to grow with now over 650 students and families with over 400 team members within and across seven different school buildings, but two things remain constant: Her grit and her theme song: Jay-Z’s “I Just Wanna Love You.” To be continued!
